The CCDR-N in search for the best photography of the Gerês-Xurés

The CCDR-N, in collaboration with MIRA FORUM, launched the contest “GERÊS- XURÉS: IN PHOTOGRAPHY”. This initiative arises within the scope of the revitalization project of the Gerês-Xurés Transboundary Biosphere Reserve. It aims to contribute to spread and divulge the photographs of professional and amateur photographers, exhibiting their work and trying to show the beauty and environmental harmony of the Reserve, for national and international public. The submission deadline was extended to September 18.  The jury that will evaluate the photographs consists of members from CCDR-N, ADERE Peneda- Gerês, Galician Tourism Agency, Universidade do Porto and MIRA FORUM Gallery. The “GERÊS_XURÉS_DINAMÍCO” project, supported by the Interreg VA Spain-Portugal Program, was designed to improve the conservation status of the habitats of the Transboundary Biosphere Reserve, both directly, through the improvement of their environmental conditions, and indirectly, announcing and integrating in the daily life of the local population criteria of conservation and socioeconomic development. The Gerês-Xurés Transboundary Biosphere Reserve (RBTGX) was declared on May 27, 2009 by UNESCO. It is located on Northern Region of Portugal and Autonomous Community of Galicia (Spain), joining the Parque Nacional da Peneda - Gerês to the Baixa Limia - Serra do Xurés Natural Park.
